Zarubino is in the quickly expanding bunkering market of the Russian Far East

New regulations for Russia‘s far eastern Zarubino Seaport make bunkering simpler, Port News IAA reports.

The new rules, approved by the nation’s Ministry of Transport, follow the establishment of permits for vessels up to 400 meters long with draft of up to 16.7 meters making regular calls for bunkering operations around one of the port’s anchor holds.

Previously, such ships were allowed to call in that area only by receiving individual permission from the seaport’s captain.

FSUE Rosmorport and Summa Group signed a deal in May to work together on an expansion of marine facilities at Zarubino in May, World Maritime News reported at the time.

Russia’s Far East region is said to be probably the fastest growing bunker market in the world.
