IBIA Welcomes Ton Visser as New Training & Technical Advisor

We are delighted to welcome Ton Visser to the IBIA team as our new Training & Technical Advisor.

Ton brings extensive experience from across the oil, gas, chemical and bunker industries, having worked in the sector since 1985. His expertise includes refinery and chemical operations, storage and blending, safety and environmental matters, and marine gas oil and residual fuel oils.

Ton began his career as a lecturer and author, developing a wide range of in-house and bespoke training programmes for the oil industry. He subsequently joined DNV Petroleum Services in Rotterdam as a Technical Fuel Advisor, later becoming Coordinator of the Technical Services Section, where he oversaw technical fuel-related activities.

Since 2010, Ton has been a Business Partner and Co-Owner of Oiltraining B.V., specialising in training and seminars for the oil, gas, chemical and bunker industries, as well as consultancy and advisory services.

In his new role with IBIA, Ton will work closely with Nigel and the Training Working Group to review and develop IBIA’s training materials and support the continued development of our online training platform. He will also provide technical expertise and support to IBIA’s Boards, Working Groups and Secretariat across a range of fuel, regulatory, safety and operational matters.
