IBIA elections: Could you be a member of the Board?
The International Bunker Industry Association is run not just for its members, it is also run by its members. All members have a say, but if you really want to influence the direction of the Association, you should think about standing for election to the Board.
Board members serve a three-year term, and we are now looking for candidates to commence a three-year term in April 2018.
Being a Board member of IBIA is more than a titular position. Board members are expected to take an active part in the running of the Association, bringing their ideas and experience to the table.
They will be in a unique position to decide what IBIA should do and where IBIA’s voice can make a real difference.
Members of IBIA are invited to propose candidates for election who in their opinion will make a meaningful contribution to the running of the Association. Here are copies of the Responsibilities of IBIA Board Members.
The election will take place prior to the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Monday 19th February 2018 to replace the members of the Board whose term of office will end on the 31st March 2018.
Nomination forms are available on our website on this link:
Prospective candidates should also look at the Association’s Bye Laws, particularly Sections 14 (C), (D), (E) and (F) which deal with the election process.
Further information may also be obtained from Justin Murphy, the CEO.
Candidates for the election to the Board must:
- Consent to stand for election
- Be paid up members of the Association
- Be proposed and seconded by paid up Members of the Association
- Complete and return the nomination form
Completed forms must be delivered to the secretariat no later than Monday, 18th December 2017.
