The entire maritime value chain may be a competitive industry, but it must collaborate and leave behind outdated practices which hinder progress

“The International Bunker Industry Association (IBIA) represents the interests of the full range of the marine energy on all critical international regulatory issues at the IMO and beyond, also through partnerships with acclaimed associations, such as BIMCO, HELMEPA, or the Global Center for Maritime Decarbonisation.”

“Decarbonisation is the clear goal, but the roadblocks are immense. It is therefore an understatement to state that the shipping and bunker industry are faced with unprecedented challenges. Commercial Certainty is yet unattainable, technological advancement is ongoing but not yet fully existing, new fuels’ massive quantities needed are far from being produced, enforceability of regulations themselves have not been fully finalised”.
