A successful start to LISW25: The Bunker Party

On 15 September 2025, IBIA proudly co-hosted The Bunker Party alongside ship.energy at The Steelyard, London, as part of London International Shipping Week (LISW25).

The event brought together an impressive mix of industry leaders, members, and partners, creating an atmosphere that was both celebratory and forward-looking. This first-ever Bunker Party at LISW set the tone for a week of collaboration and innovation across the maritime sector.

IBIA extends its sincere thanks to the generous sponsors whose commitment made the evening possible: Drew Marine, Island Oil, Propeller Fuels, Range Shipping, and Spotbarge. Their support underlined the collective strength and spirit of the bunker and shipping industries.

The evening began with a joint welcome from Llewellyn Banks-Hughes of ship.energy and IBIA Executive Director, Alexander Prokopakis, who set the stage for an engaging and memorable event. Both reflected on the importance of connection and collaboration within our industry, particularly at a time of profound change and opportunity.

IBIA was strongly represented by members of its Board and Secretariat. Chair Constantinos Capetanakis, Vice Chair Adrian Tolson, Board Members Nigel Draffin, Jeroen de Vos and Claudia Beumer were all in attendance, alongside Secretariat colleagues Alexander Prokopakis, Tahra Sergeant, Elena Wilson, Tara Morjaria and Ilenia Aranda. Their presence reflected the Association’s ongoing commitment to being at the heart of the industry and ensuring that members and partners alike feel supported and connected.

The Bunker Party was more than just a celebration – it was a statement of IBIA’s role in bringing the global bunker community together, fostering collaboration, and creating platforms where meaningful discussions and partnerships can take shape. As LISW25 continues, IBIA looks forward to further opportunities to engage with members, partners, and the broader maritime community.
