IBIA Podcast Launch: A New Era of Industry Insight

IBIA is proud to announce the launch of its first-ever podcast, A Background to Bunkering. Spearheaded by the IBIA Digitalisation Working Group, this initiative marks the beginning of a planned podcast series designed to share knowledge, spark discussion, and connect the global marine fuels community.

The opening episode takes listeners on a journey through the history and evolution of the marine fuels industry, from the coal-fired ships of the 19th century to today’s transition towards low- and zero-carbon fuels. It explores how the bunkering sector has continually adapted to meet the changing demands of global shipping, setting the stage for a new era of sustainable marine energy.

Alongside this, a short introductory podcast is also available, offering a concise overview of who IBIA is, our global role, and how we support the marine fuels value chain through advocacy, training, and collaboration.

The podcast series will continue to feature expert perspectives, industry analysis, and thought leadership on the issues shaping the future of marine fuels. By harnessing digital platforms, IBIA aims to make knowledge more accessible, engaging, and relevant for its members and the wider maritime community.
