IBIA at SMM: ‘Be prepared’ forum to examine key issues

ibia_events_logoIBIA will host a forum during SMM in Hamburg next week entitled “Be prepared for the challenges lying ahead” as the decision on the timing of the global 0.50% sulphur cap draws near. The forum will also examine quality issues.

The IBIA Forum will take place in the Shanghai room on Wednesday 7 September from 13:30-16:30, featuring a welcome from CEO Capt Peter Hall, who will chair the session. IBIA’s IMO representative, Unni Einemo, will provide and update on what is happening at IMO concerning the fuel availability debate and implications of the implementation of a global sulphur cap, and touch on proposed changes to the Bunker Delivery Note (BDN).

Speakers include Anna Larsson of the Trident Alliance, who will consider the issues of compliance, and Michael Green of Lintek Shipcare with an update on the fuel market and prevailing quality issues.

IBIA’s Peter is also due to participate in a closed roundtable session hosted by IHS Maritime with sponsorship from ExxonMobil on compliance options for the global 0.50% sulphur cap earlier on the same the day.

IBIA will be represented throughout SMM, Europe’s largest shipping trade fair, by sharing a stand with our corporate members Lintek Shipcare (Stand A2 125). Peter will be at the stand when time permits during Tuesday, and in the morning on Wednesday and Thursday.

We hope to see you at our forum, which is open and free to anyone attending SMM.
