IBIA announces the 5th Africa Bunker and Shipping Conference in Accra, Ghana

International Bunker Industry Association (IBIA) is thrilled to announce the upcoming 5th edition of the IBIA Africa Bunker and Shipping Conference, scheduled for 5 – 7 September 2023. This much-anticipated event will be hosted in Accra, Ghana, a significant maritime hub in West Africa.

The conference is a unique opportunity to explore the specialised opportunities and challenges within the African bunker industry. Participants will engage in a diverse array of topics, including the physical supply chain, financing the marine industry, future fuels in bunkering, bunker quality and quantity, and regulatory issues.

The conference serves as a golden platform for delegates to interact with industry experts, expand their professional network, and gain a deeper understanding of the latest developments and challenges in the bunker and shipping sectors.

This year, IBIA is excited to offer a specialised one-day bunker training course, tailored specifically for the African bunker sector. The comprehensive course will cover various facets of the bunker market, including commercial and legal aspects, roles of different stakeholders, contracts, sales terms, and types of claims.

Participants will be given the opportunity to delve into fuel quality and management, understand the best practices for Very Low Sulphur Fuel Oil (VLSFO) and other fuels, and familiarize themselves with current and forthcoming regulations. The full-day training session (8am-5pm) integrates real-world case studies and hands-on exercises, ensuring a practical understanding of key concepts.
