Happy New Year….
And 2016, although it’s barely started, is already proving to be a challenging year!
As I write, the price of oil has slipped to around $30 dollars a barrel – the barrel itself now costs more than its contents… OPEC shows no sign of turning the taps off and Iran has voiced its intention to produce a further 500,000 barrels a day. While there may be some rebalancing over the next six months, this is a situation that will undoubtedly take considerably longer to rectify…. these are ‘interesting times’ for all of us…
But as we look ahead, IBIA has a wide range of tailored training courses, forums and events to support your business and to guide members through these demanding times. Our new look monthly newsletter will keep you up to date with all of the news of our activities and the issues that are most important to you.
I would like to urge you to take part in our member survey – your views will determine IBIA’s next three-year strategic plan. We need to know what you want from your industry association in order to deliver it.
Why not consider joining one of our working groups – meeting on a diverse range of subjects, they offer a real chance to influence development and regulation across the industry.
And last but not least, you should have received a voting form for the IBIA Board elections, please use your vote and be part of this important process.
No matter where in the world you are based, IBIA’s global team is working hard to add value to your business operations and to support you with events, education and information in 2016.
I wish you all the very best of luck, good health and prosperity for the year ahead,
Peter
