ship.energy summit 2026 on 2 June in Athens, keeping it real and setting out pragmatic ambitions for maritime decarbonisation, with IBIA as supporting association

Supported Event – The ship.energy Summit 2026 (SES26)

The ship.energy Summit 2026 (SES26), taking place in Athens, will bring together global maritime stakeholders to assess the realistic progress of shipping decarbonisation. Following delays to the IMO’s Net Zero Framework, the event will explore whether the industry can maintain momentum toward its greenhouse gas reduction targets.

Discussions will focus on practical solutions such as cleaner fuels, operational efficiencies, and digitalisation, with particular attention on the challenge of decarbonising existing vessels. The summit will also examine the impact of European regulations, incentive and penalty mechanisms, and whether the European Commission’s Industrial Maritime Strategy is providing the confidence needed to sustain investment and collaboration across the sector.
