IBIA elections: Could you be a member of the Board?

The International Bunker Industry Association is not just run for its members. It is also run by its members. All members have a say, but if you really want to influence the direction of the Association, you should think about standing for election to the Board.

Board members serve a three-year term, and a third of the Board is replaced every year. We are now looking for candidates to commence a three-year term in April 2017.

Being a Board member of IBIA is more than a titular position. Board members are expected to take an active part in the running of the Association, bringing their ideas and experience to the table. They will be in a unique position to decide what IBIA should do where IBIA’s voice can make a real difference.

A copy of the Guidelines for Board Members and nomination forms are available on our website at https://ibia.net/ibia-elections-2017/ or request a copy by mail: ibia@ibia.net or call us on +44 (0)20 3397 3850.

Candidates for election to the Board must:

  • Consent to stand for election
  • Be paid up Members of the Association
  • Be proposed and seconded by paid up Members of the Association

The deadline to submit your completed nomination form to the secretariat is 24 October, 2016. Nominations will not be accepted after the closing date so if you are thinking about it, act sooner rather than later.
