Haitham Al Tamimi
Haitham Al Tamimi, Lead Business Development for Marine Services and Shipping, joined SOHAR Port and Freezone in 2018. In this role, he combines his technical knowledge with commercial strategies to enhance marine services, ensuring SOHAR’s position as a leader in innovation and operational excellence in the maritime industry.
A key milestone in Haitham’s career at SOHAR was his leadership in implementing the Mass Flow Meter System for bunkering, making SOHAR the second port globally to adopt this advanced technology. This initiative significantly improved the accuracy and transparency of fuel measurements, meeting global standards and reinforcing SOHAR’s reputation as a leader in sustainable and innovative maritime operations.
Haitham’s journey from engineering to business development exemplifies his adaptability and commitment to growth. Prior to joining SOHAR, he served as a Marketing Engineer at Asyad Drydock Company, where he honed his ability to align technical solutions with client needs and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
His educational foundation includes a B.Sc. Honours degree in Mechatronics Engineering from Glasgow Caledonian University and an MSc in International Marketing from Sheffield Hallam University. He has also pursued various certifications in Contract Management, Logistics, Leadership Development, and Negotiation.
