By joining IBIA you will become part of a global network of bunker industry experts who collectively form the world’s leading authority on bunkers. Not only will you have access to a wealth of information and insight (we publish newsletters and industry updates on current issues) which offer pragmatic advice for managing the industry’s challenges; members also have the potential to shape and influence both international and local legislation. This happens through IBIA’s Working Groups which are responsible for developing industry guidance, participation in IMO correspondence groups, solving long-term industry issues, and addressing both commercial and technical issues.

Specialised Training Courses

IBIA has developed a range of training courses which are run in conjunction with conferences and seminars. Training can be requested and courses run to meet specific needs. Experts from the regions where the courses are held are consulted to ensure each course programme is adapted to reflect region-specific issues, including legislative and operating challenges

IBIA ASIA has developed a range of training courses in conjunction with the Maritime & Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) and is one of only two accredited training partners of MPA in Singapore.  These include: Basic BunkeringAdvanced BunkeringMass Flow Metering and Auditor Training for Bunker Inspector Bodies.

 

Networking Opportunities

Through conferences, seminars, training, dinners, IMO functions and the members’ portal, IBIA offers both online and offline platforms for its members to access business leaders and potential clients, while increasing visibility of their company. IBIA’s robust calendar of the conferences we support will give you access to more information about the industry and certainly more networking opportunities. IBIA secures discount rates for its members.

 

Representation at IMO

Help ensure that your company’s concerns are heard by regulators. IBIA has official representation and consultative status as a non-government organisation at the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and represents members at crucial legislative and industry changing debates. IBIA attends and presents its members at the Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC), Maritime Safety Committee (MSC) and other relevant meetings. IBIA Annual Dinner

The IBIA Annual Convention

The IBIA Annual Convention is one of the most anticipated Bunker and shipping events in the industry held annually in different countries around the world, with highly acclaimed speakers, sponsors and delegates.

The attendees include Ship Owners, Bunker Suppliers, Traders, Port Authorities, Regulators, NGOs, Brokers, Lawyers, Surveyors and Academics.

Groups

Working groups are a core means of member participation and the mechanism to discuss and develop IBIA’s position and responses to key industry issues, whether international, regional, national or local. Outcomes can include input to IBIA’s work at the IMO, guidance documents and publications. Working groups can be ongoing long term, such as fuel technical or legal working groups, or be established ad hoc to address specific issues at the discretion of the IBIA Board.

As Corporate Members you nominate your primary and secondary offices, ensuring that both offices are kept updated with all IBIA news and announcements.Should you wish to extend your membership further to ensure your company is represented across the world, this is possible with an additional fee of £600 per office. Future and past invoices produced after registering as a member on the website will be available under the billing section facilitating an easy overview of the membership status
