During my 23-year-old career, I have served shipping from diverse positions. I studied Law in Greece and England and qualified as Greek lawyer and English solicitor. Between 1998-2002 I served as Legal Counsel of a US public shipping company and between 2002-2004 as solicitor at Holman, Fenwick & Willan. In 2004 I co-founded a ship-owning family company, where, as shareholder and Director, I dealt with all managerial and operational issues.
Joining Starbulk group in 2014, I served as General Manager of a number of our private vessels, Control Director of our procurement company, and currently Bunker Director, supervising bunkering procurement, our cooperation with industry stakeholders and steering our bunkering strategy.
Due to my encompassing background and Starbulk’s emphasis on fuels’ and bunkering services’ quality, as well as environmental developments, I am particularly interested in the advocacy of formulated suggestions concerning fuels’ and bunker services’ quality-awareness, information intelligence and innovation.
My nomination manifests Starbulk’s wish to become actively involved in IBIA, which impartially expresses fuel and bunkering concerns, in these rapidly-changing times. I believe that as the Bunker Director of a major shipping company I will contribute meaningfully to the expression of innovative suggestions for addressing all major bunkering challenges.
