Save the date: IBIA in Africa Regional Forum
The IBIA Africa Regional Forum in Cape Town will be held on 15 & 16 September 2016
The topics to be discussed will include:
- local and international trends in fuel management and bunkering
- what’s happening with regulation and quality in the fuel supply chain
- fuel quality chain and the port charter
- a modern look at the bunkering business with the regional bunker suppliers providing an overview of capability in the region
The Regional Forum will also include an option for a tour of Cape Town Port which is managed by Transnet National Ports Authority. The port caters for cargo moving between Europe and the western hemisphere, and the Middle East and Australia, particularly containers. Cape Town is a hub for the fishing industry of the region, with modern facilities for processing catches and handling the maintenance of fishing fleets. It also has a massive tourist destination in the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront development – a shopping mall, hotel and restaurant complex – which fronts on to the harbour. The harbour has two dry docks, a repair quay, ship lift facilities and 34 berths of up to 318.5m length.
Last but not least, delegates can also sign up for IBIA’s One-day Basic Bunkering Course which will run alongside the main IBIA in Africa Forum, offering a valuable introduction to the industry for those just starting out on their bunkering careers.
